Daylight Savings EP || January 2013

“Honestly, I just took my time with this project in it’s entirety. Searching for a different sound and concentration to blend all of my different encounters, life understandings and truth about who Essay Real is as an artist. Realized that rushing yourself for the sake of putting out music always leaves you with the short end of the pattern.
The industry and music as a whole has to find it’s own space to evolve, but it can’t evolve on it’s own. We as artist, and fans, control the outcome of where we will take music as a whole. Classifying yourself in one particular box that you choose to work in, is like glorifying the negative space in a $40,000 painting. People have no choice but to notice you, but they rather gravitate towards what they can relate with and the main reason they tuned in the first place.
I mean, it’s almost too easy to become redundant in music, sometimes a personal hiatus to work on your craft is always the best resolution. The pace of success isn’t determined on how fast one works, yet - how fast they can come to grips on who they are as people. The more you understand, the more the people will relate to what you’re bringing to the table. Can’t wait to introduce this new sound to everyone in a few weeks, definitely one of my strongest projects. ANLG”

They lost their morals, so they lost their souls. Simple chemistry.
